Corfu's pedestrian-only old town 38km from Sirios apartments is a warren of crumbling Venetian-style buildings, Italianate churches, chic boutiques and rustic tavernas. Locals gather on the Spianada, a vast green space where they play cricket, and the Liston, a 19th-century arcade sheltering a string of cafes. Kassiopi 3 km from Sirios apartments northeast of the island and 35km from Corfu town.There are plenty of shops and other cafes and restaurants scattered throughout the village and along the road leading down into the harbour area, which allows the visitor a welcome break from the sun.
The ruins of an old fortress on the headland overlook the harbour and a small footpath leads you up to the castle. The headland is surrounded by shingle beaches and little coves. In the village there are several supermarkets catering for all of your daily needs and that of your family.
Situated in the North of the island it is about 9 km from Sirios apartments and 40km from Corfu town. Old Perithia is one of the oldest permanently inhabited villages in Corfu. Set at over 400 metres above sea level in an area of outstanding beauty and scenery, views reach to the sea on one side to the imposing Mount Pantokratora on the other, with rolling valleys in between. Most of the 130 houses are now derelict ruins, some of them have been repaired. Built in the Byzantine times around the 14th century the village inhabitants grew when people left their coastal properties seeking the safety of the mountains away from pirate attacks on the shore. Five Tavernas sit in the main village square. Walk through the roughly cobbled paths to find them.
Acharavi 6 km from Sirios apartments is a famous tourist resort located 36 km from the main town of Corfu. The settlement lies around the long sandy beach that stretches for 3 km. The resort is long and strung out along the main road where most of the restaurants and bars are sited and with yet more tavernas, bars and cafes along the road fronting the beach. Acharavi has a popular water-park nearby called Hydropolis also In the village there are several supermarkets and bank.
Sidari is 15km from Sirios apartments and 45km from Corfu town. The landscape with the soft rock erosion is very interesting and several little bays around Sidari offer small swimming spaces for large crowds. Sidari is certainly for those looking for a popular lively place. Also cafes, fast foods, restaurants and local taverns, offering Greek, British, Mexican, Indian, Italian and international cuisine, as well plenty of tourist shops that open until late. One of the best swimming spot is the beach of Apotripiti in Melitsa, the Canal d amour, as well the Sunset beach (Logas beach) in the village of Peroulades. Other Sidari beaches are found near the harbour to the east and the famous coves of the Canal D'Amour to the west. There are rock formations of a particularly striking nature which form a huge number of tiny coves and narrow channels.
